Edinburgh Child Protection Committee and NSPCC Scotland are working together to design a city wide campaign on neglect. As part of this we are keen to develop a better understanding of what parents in Edinburgh understand by the term neglect, what they would do if they suspected a child was being neglected and where families access support with parenting. We have created a short survey to do this, which should take between five and ten minutes to complete. By completing this survey, you are helping us ensure that the final campaign will be relevant to all families and contribute towards keeping all children in the city safe. Closing date for responses is 18 March.
Thursday 7th March is World Book Day. As well as a whole school home learning task, children will be taking part in some class based activities to mark the day.
On Friday 8th March we propose to hold a used book sale and children and families are invited to donate any used books appropriate for P1 – P7 pupils. Books will be price-grouped by our P6/7 pupils, ranging from 10p to £1. Each class will have a chance to visit the stalls to purchase a book/books during school hours on Friday 8th. All money raised will be donated to Comic Relief.
To give us time to prepare, we will gratefully accept any book donations on or after our school open afternoon on Friday 22nd February up until Friday 1st March.
