P6/7 are making cars to enter into the Primary Engineers competition. They have learned how to use a variety of tools such as hacksaws, bench hooks and corner jointers. They have measured accurately and worked together beautifully. Their cars are working well so far and they mostly run in a straight line. The next step is to add an electric motor so that our cars can go up a slope.
P6/7 organised a whole school Robert Louis Stevenson Day celebration on Friday 13th November. We planned activities for each class. These were a treasure hunt and designing a treasure map art activity. We also led an assembly where we did a whole school pirate dance, recited some of Stevenson’s poetry and announced winners of the fancy dress competition.
The day was a roaring success and we raised £221 for Mary’s Meals by selling RLS inspired Souvenirs in our shop. The charity was chosen by our RRS group.
